Structural Earthing

Column Image

Structural earthing (or structural grounding) is the method of using a building’s steel reinforcement (rebars, columns, or structural steel) as part of the earthing/grounding system. It ensures that fault currents, leakage currents, or lightning discharges are safely directed into the ground.

Connection Details
  • RCC columns and foundation rebars are interconnected with the earth strip.
  • Provides a continuous path to discharge lightning or electrical faults.
Benefits
  • Protects high-rise buildings and towers from lightning strikes.
  • Quickly discharges fault or leakage current.
  • Ensures safety of structure and protection of electrical equipment.
